We drop you in right here... into the middle of the machine... No fancy adjectives... We figure the music can speak for itself... Instead, just a simple explanation what you are hearing and why you are hearing it.SCHOOL OF EMOTIONAL ENGINEERING on MySpace We are making a new record, (which kind of started as soon as the first one came out)which, when your band is spread over a minimum of 3 different continents at any given moment is difficult. We started making this new album (which as you will notice has a distinctly different sound to anything we have done before) whilst we were all still living in Melbourne Australia... sharing an apartment in the city... almost everything you are hearing here has been done in that apartment... Recording is a strange process for us as the technological know-how of S.E.E allows us to blend things together is such a way that recording often never really 'starts' but also never really 'ends'... we just do what we do until it sounds right... which is often very very wrong. If it makes you feel more comfortable... you can call these songs 'demos'... but in all likelihood when we are done and you buy the album very little will have changed- because as it stands we all like the fact that this music is as brittle and raw as it is... but in order to be sure about that, we will first need to f**k with it, destroy everything, and start again and make everything 'better'... if only to realise we had it right to begin with... I suppose, at least for us, this is one of the horrible realities of the creative process. Enjoy what you find here, we are not precious about it... or rather, we are trying to pretend we are not... putting this 'unfinished work up here is kind of in line with sticking your hand over a flame and saying 'it doesnt hurt, it doesnt hurt, it doesnt hurt'... meanwhile your skin starts to blister and the faint smell of burning flesh fills the nostrils of those around you.
