Originally from Haiti, born in New York, raised in Montreal, Rachelle Jeanty has been singing professionally for the past 17 years. She has toured the world for two years as backvocalist of superstar Celine Dion and has given multiple performances as a solo artist at Les Francofolies de Montreal. Talented singer-songwriter, Rachelles debut album ‘’D’ÂME SOUL’’ received great critics and has been classified as ‘’an authentic French soul album’’. Her second recording Higher Ground is thrilling her fans everywhere. And today, back to her first love, Jazz, Rachelles new exciting project RJs Jazz Quartet is quickly enticing the experts.
RACHELLE JEANTY - Originally from Haiti, born in New York, raised in Montreal, and now based in Berlin, this accomplished singer and recording artist brings to us an impressive background.
Renown backvocalist for major Francophone acts such as Véronique Sanson, Eddy Mitchell, Johnny Halliday and legendary Robert Charlebois, Rachelle Jeanty also toured the world with Celine Dion, playing on major stages such as the Madison Square Gardens, The Budokan, Bercy, Wembley Arena and many other great venues.
After evolving in Paris developing her solo career, this talented singer songwriter went back to Canada to release her debut album DÂME SOUL, a collection of her original compositions. This touching and creative piece of work, woven by her life experiences, her lessons learned and her deep spiritual quest, was very well received by the public and qualified by the critics as an authentic french soul album.
Rachelles 2011 self produced second recording HIGHER GROUND is a step further onto this path, where every song was carefully chosen by the artist for its profound, philosophical or spiritual content. Deeply inspired by these powerful classics, Rachelle rearranged most of the music to her style and emotion. Sold out concerts in Europe have followed the launching of this album.
As 2012 brings the artist back to her first love, Jazz, Rachelle finds herself at home, for, despite the versatility of her talent, she is truly a Jazz singer.
Her latest project RJs AfroJazz Quartet transpires with intensity and reveals the maturity of this wonderful singer, as well as of her chosen musicians. Composed of an colombian drummer, a japanese bassist, a german pianist and a haitian vocalist, this blazing quartet brings a new sound and originality to jazz standards and pop songs through afro, bossa, samba and soul flavors and rythms. From Berlins pumping universal heartbeat, RJs AfroJazz Quartet will powerfully integrate the international Jazz scene.
Most recently, an amazing alignment of circumstances allowed american songwriter Ben Blythe to contact Rachelle and propose to her his wonderful songs. Rachelle immediately dived into this new adventure, as their beautiful melodies and their powerful lyrics went straight to her Heart and her Spirit. Only two weeks after their first collaboration, they were invited to sing at the United Nations in New York. They became the band "Realized Soul".
While giving many soul and gospel concerts in Europe, Rachelle has also been successfully conducting her SPIRIT of JOY vocal workshops in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Morocco.
Blessed with a magical voice known to open the Heart, Rachelles authentic presence and magnetic energy leave audiences in joy, standing in ovation for more, wherever she goes.
