Martika has been living and breathing music from a young age, having been born into a music orientated family. Her Mother was a backing singer for Sting and Faithless and her Father a bass player for Rebel MC and Urban Species. As well as being a keen martial artist (another talent that runs through her family), Martika has a talent for playing the piano and dancing. Growing up, influences from artists such as Prince and Aaliyah helped Martika to explore the kind of artist she wanted to be.
