推荐一只来自英国Leeds的新乐队，不算是Britpop，带有英国风味的独立流行摇滚乐队，主打单曲“Black Heart, Blue Eyes”，有些活泼，有些欢快，有些清新。主唱James的嗓音是清新风味的。Tigers That Talked虽然是新军，但是有制作旋律的功底，现在仅有发行一只单曲和这张新EP,而他们的旋律则一点都不稚嫩。是值得期待首张专辑到来的乐队，各位关注下吧~The supposedly mystical number 23 has a long an illustrious significance in the world of rock. Naked Lunch author William Burroughs – a major inspiration to dozens of acts as well as collaborator for Sonic Youth, Ministry and Kurt Cobain among others - was among those to identify the powers of the number. Psychic TV built their career around the release of 23 live albums (although they actually stopped releasing them before they got to the end). And it played a central role in the career of Bill Drummond to the extent that KLF came out of retirement to play for 23 minutes in 1997.Not entirely sure whether newcomers Tigers That Talked have absorbed the mysticism with this song title or whether it just sounded a bit like the ? & The Mysterons hit 96 Tears. But we do know that the Leeds quartet named themselves after a 1968 novel, In Watermelon Sugar, by the writer Paul Brattigan (who once released a spoken word album on The Beatles’ Zapple label). Having already written a song, Tigers That Talked, which was inspired by the book and short of a name for the band prior to their debut gig, frontman Jamie Williams improvised.The band themselves talk of their admiration for the structures of Elbow and Arcade Fire which are evident in their compositions, but with the addition of a violin as a lead instrument, there is also a clear nod towards The Waterboys before they went hell for leather trousers down the path of fiddly folk.Debut single 23 Fears is released today and is the ‘five day favourite’ single of the week on Q Radio’s QPM show each night this week from 6pm.
