葡萄牙新晋异教黑团Kallaikoi was formed in the end of 2008, when João Ferraz (guitars) and André Tavares (drums) decide to continue their former band with a new singer, João Seco. By June 2009 the line up is completed with Luís Nabais on the guitar and Manuel Alves on bass. The band chose to name themselves as Kallaikoi, a celtic tribe contemporary of the Lusitanians, both as a symbol of freedom and struggle and as a tribute to ancient Portuguese history. Due to the mixture of the musical sensibilities of every member, the songs achieve a greater cohesion, and their blending of Black, Death, Heavy and technique grant the band strong compliements from many sources. Since their first gig in August 2009 the band has continuously played live, and recorded Cold Awakening, their 8-song debut EP, with renowned producer Hugo Pereira (Unbridled, The Last of Them, Triba), out on 29th May 2010. With a national tour scheduled Kallaikoi are about to start their Lusitanian campaign, with a beer in their hand and metal in their voice!
