Those Who Ride With Giants is the pseudonym of MJ Callaghan, a musician, illustrator and animator based out of Sydney, Australia.
Creating a musical style of instrumental art rock, his art has been influenced by other artists such as Caspian, This Will Destroy You, Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai.
The most recent release “Numinous” is a continuation of the first release “Those Who Ride With Giants” EP, an emotional adventure following the story of a seafaring voyage, and the encounters it experiences along the way.
Being an illustrator and animator, he has been able to produce and release music videos to accompany select tracks from each album.
Moving from Perth to Sydney with his wife for a fresh start in early 2014, everyday work was extremely difficult to find, so in a desperate move of inspiration and determination, prized items were sold in order to acquire recording equipment to begin THOSE WHO RIDE WITH GIANTS.
Since it’s release in June 2014, his music has been in TV commercials and documentaries as well as being selected in a high rotation playlists on Spotify.
“Numinous” is the next chapter in this journey.
