“I like music…period!”   
That may be a fairly broad statement but that pretty much sums up TeeJ. A true music lover from as far back as he can remember. He grew up listening to hip hop, soul, funk, old skool electro, blues, pop, rock, classical and everything in between, he likes to draw influences from as many different sources as possible. “I feel that a better understanding of music as a whole gives me a better understanding of what I’m trying to do musically.” TeeJ was first given a shot at the decks by Darren Holland in the summer of 2006 when he was given a set at Baldeelox house sessions at Club Sin in London to play his own blend of dirty tech electro. Since then he’s made an appearance on House FM and has been getting gigs at some of the hottest underground events and venues in London. He also performed sets at The Key, The Cross, Egg, The Whitehouse, Public Life, Tabernacle and Chapel Bar under his belt to name but a few. Spirit Catcher, Jimpster, Kriece, DJ T, Shur-I-Kan, Sebastien Leger, Lawnchair Generals and Jnr J are amongst his favourite DJ’s and producers. “They tick all the boxes for me musically and as entertainers behind the decks, oh and I suppose I had to mention Jnr J as he’s a good mate of mine and it’s mostly thanks to him I got into this DJing thing in the first place!”   
Don’t be foolish enough to pigeon hole him to any one genre though. “There’s too many DJ’s playing the same five “big” tunes of the month and a lot of people play very similar styles. I try to incorporate a bit of everything in my mixes and my sets and the more I play out the more I learn and refine my style. I don’t like to be restricted by labels and genres though, at the end of the day it’s all just music!” Nu-Disco, electro-funk, Tech, deep, progressive, he’s got it all in his bag of tricks.
