Born in Newport News Virginia, the daughter of a shipyard man, Amy was raised in a hard working family with her 3 siblings.  One of her joys as a youth was singing.  As a child, she discovered her capabilities at the tutelage of school wind ensemble and chorus teachers, and she dreamed of a career in singing.  While still in school, her family relocated to North Carolina where her vocal talents served her well in local pageants.  After school she eventually landed a contract with an agent in Raleigh, North Carolina.
  Music is Amy’s passion, and as her career was budding, she found herself not just singing with passion, but falling in love too.  Amy had fallen in love with a military man.  Faced with a choice, she risked herself and sacrificed her young career to grow her own family.  Yet just a sure as growing a family would birth new challenges, nothing could keep her from music.  Amy continued to sing by herself and with church groups as she lived around the country.  Her family and her vocal talent both grew as she continued to challenge and develop her art.  Amy’s music teachers, vocal coaches, and mentors were all the best anyone could find – Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee, Diana Krall, Keely Smith, Carmen McRae, Cassandra Wilson, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Kurt Elling, and many more.
  Once her family was raised enough to allow the demands of performing, Amy found a piano player, Joe Cea.  The vocal interview ended and the live singing career had been reborn.  Amy has sung now at many small and mid-sized events over the last few years, with a wide array of different players.  She recorded and released her first studio work as well as recently completed a live video.  She constantly lends her vocal coaching and stage talents to jazz students at a nearby high school.
  Amy’s most noteworthy public event was at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2009, when she sang with Bob French and the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band.  After a wonderful show, she was invited to sing with the band at Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse located inside the opulent Royal Sonesta Hotel, in the heart of New Orlean’s French Quarter.  Amy has played there as recently as Sept 21st of 2009.
  Possessing an extensive classic Jazz repertoire, a sweetly smoked tone simmered in bluesy delivery, and the confidence of all those she plays with, Amy continues to delight and enthrall her growing audience with incredibly rich jazz performances.
