Brit-popsters Tthe Audience comprised singer Sophie Ellis Bextor, lead guitarist and songwriter Billy Reeves, guitarist Dean Molle, bassist Kerin Smith, keyboardist Nyge Butler and drummer Patch Hannon. After issuing a series of successful singles, they issued the EP I Got the Wherewithal in late 1998.
