Thrill of a Gunfight formed sometime around October 2004 when former band mates Lance and Jesse (CHAINSAW!) began writing killer guitar riffs together. Soon after that we found drummer Darrin Sanders. We got together for a couple of months and finally got up a few songs. About that time is when Sean Nalley joined the band and has been slayin bass ever since. Which leaves us only to find a singer now. We went through about 3 singers at that point in time, never being able to find one we were completely happy with. Finally we met up with Andrew Hanscomb and talked with him about doing vocals. After one practice with him we knew he was the one. This completes the first original line up of Thrill Of A Gunfight. After recording our first cd “Run For Your Life” in June 2005, we followed up with a summer tour and numerous southeast shows throughout the year. Not too long after that Chad Darkwait stepped in as our new vocalist after previous singer Andrew was booted from the band due to personal reasons. After recording our second cd “ Broken Hearts And Body Parts” in 2006, we once again did numerous tours to support our record. Soon after that drummer Darin Sanders had to leave the band do to personal reasons as well. For about 6 months we could not find anyone to fill his spot. We did not let that stop us though. We used a drum machine on tour until finally, Zack Dees stepped in to fill his spot. Now we are solid and ready to record again. In late 2007 we went back to the studio to record a 4 song demo send out and shop around to different labels. In October of 2008 we signed a deal with Torque Records. We went and recorded our new album in March of 2009 entitled “ The Struggle, The Rebirth, The Beginning Anew” Album release date is August 4, 2009. Once again we had to make some changes to the line up due to touring and personal reasons. Chad and Zack are no longer with us. We do however have new members now. Nobody permanent yet. We want to try out as many people as possible before we make a final decision. New updates will be made soon about permanent members.
