Black Leather Jesus has been something of an umbrella project for collective works of a number of various noise/experimental artists. In its best years, BLJ included over 13 members. It was originally formed by Richard Ramirez in 1989 and is still active nowadays. The band has a rotating lineup including: Richard Ramirez, Sean E. Matzus, Robert Newsome, Kevin Novak, Thomas Mortigan, Jovan Hernandez, Vance Osborne, Randa Golub, Scott Houston, Vanessa Gates, Domokos, Nathan Golub, Leeann Rogers, & Joseph Gates.
