Gideon Lewensohn, a fifth generation Jerusalemite was born in 1954. Lewensohn studied composition and bass at the Rubin Academy in Tel-Aviv where he graduated in 1988 with an Artist Diploma Cum Laude. He later continued for his Doctoral studies in conducting at the Peabody conservatory in Baltimore USA.
