Astral Winter was formed in the Winter of 2008 as a Solo project by Josh Young. 
In 2009 vocalist Phil Hemsworth joined the band as the vocalist leaving all the instruments and composition to Josh. 
In September of 2009 Astral Winter released their first demo \"Illustrations Of Death\" by their then self run label \"Immortal Frost Productions\". 
The released was well received and sold out in a couple months.

In early 2010 Astral Winter started work on their first full length album \"Winter Enthroned\". In 2011, vocalist Phil Hemsworth departed from the band. Josh took on vocals making it again a solo project. In August of 2011, \"Winter Enthroned\" was finished after a long wait.

Astral Winter is now preparing for the release of the album through Immortal Frost Productions.

Many songs have also been written for a 2nd album release titled \"Forest Of Silence\" which will 
have a darker more evolved feel to it.
